The organization is doing everything it can to try and keep Westbrook happy.

Quote
The Thunder re-signed Raymond Felton to a one-year, $2.4 million deal Tuesday night. In doing so,  the Thunder have become the first team to cross the $300 million mark in salary and projected luxury tax commitments. They now have a luxury tax bill of $150 million, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

Why ????

Biggest waste of money i've ever seen.....

"A fool and his money were lucky enough to get together in the first place" - Harry Anderson, 1986 and also used by Michael Douglas in the movie "Wall Street" in 1987.

I think they were already in luxury tax

Felton "helped" them reach 300m.

Considering they sent Harden to Houston because they couldn't sustain a 100m payroll this is beyond crazy

Trading Harden and now these signing make me shake my head too.  Just think how good that team could be right now if both Durant and Harden were there!  Maybe they would be attracting a few ring chasers to challenge GSW.

Instead, they burn money and watch the train as it speeds by them.

They learned their lesson about not spending to keep stars. It's either this or forever mediocrity or worse. It's a huge win to have 2 stars locked up, plus Adam, Grant and Roberson for the future. The franchise could have been in jeopardy otherwise.

Next will be the Melo buyout and where will he land Houston or LA.

Westbrook's been the problem since Day 1. They still haven't realized they need to trade him, and should have traded him years ago before Durant and Harden left.
