The “he got a harsh punishment because he is black” narrative is exactly why the Celtics need to come out and say what he did.

Well it looks like Anna Horford is already pushing this narrative on social media.

This narrative…It’s going to spread like wildfire
Those with an agenda go looking for excuses to yell it to the masses.

Anna is a clown, everyone knows that. She spews nonsense daily

Until I find out about the FACTS Im assuming racism
That's why we replaced him with another person belonging to a minority group, right?

Grow up.

She has never known when to shut up. Would be so frustrating being her relative!

Nonsense, he's being replaced by a black person....SAS is a moron as usual.

Not that it makes a difference,  but Joe is actually mixed.

The Celtics should just save face and say "oops sorry we made a mistake. Here, we'll shorten your suspension to 41 games instead of 82 games" and folks will just shrug and move along with their lives. Make him go through retrain and stuff, Udoka send out apology letters to the affected parties etc.

82 games though is excessive for punishment of this org violation, esp if your team just got off from an NBA Finals.

How can you say any of this without knowing what happened?

The Story is, is that this is the second time he has done this apparently, and had been previously warned, if that is true it does change things a bit

I think Ime needs to broaden his social circle.

Such a disappointing feeling after looking forward to the season. After brogdan the off season has been one gut punch after another.

The brown rumors to Brooklyn
Gallo blows his knee out
Rob has a second surgery
Brad refuses to use the TPE to construct a legit championship bench, continues to sign unplayable former first round busts
Ime suspended for the year

Sums it up.

I swear we are cursed since the '86 title. Even the championship team we did have in '08 loses its best player the following year and Garnett is never quite the same after (though still very good). Then the 2010 Game 7 travesty.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

So this wasn’t the league disciplining Ime, it was the Celtics right?

In that case they absolutely owe everyone an explanation soon

Exactly, Glad I didnt get league pass and I never buy anything they sell but just imagine spending money the team is using and then they do this. I really don't care what he did if it wasnt illegal  but if I were an invested fan i'd be upset and no way this team stays together long term

So Udoka is good with a one year suspension.

Can't help but think he would be okay with this suspension because he would have a job a year from now, whereas maybe if word gets out what he did, he wouldn't be anyone's head coach next year because no one would hire him.

Yeah, I think this is the big thing. Ime seems to have simply accepted the punishment, not denying it and not really leaking anything that he's upset or surprised how long the suspension is. That says alot, I think, and not in a good way for Ime. There's clearly more to this than has been reported thus far, and I'm guessing it's something truly egregious in order to even consider a year suspension to be reasonable.

You know what…this is brilliant and probably the best way out of this quagmire.

According to Shams, the relationship started out as consensual and the team turned the other way... until Ime started to harrass this female employee, which forced the team to put the foot down. Yep, just fire this asswipe and be done with it.
