Also I don't think this involves gambling. A head coach gambling would probably be perma banned from the NBA. It doesn't sound THAT serious.
There are rules forbidding head coaches from gambling - but not assistant coaches believe it or not.

Yeah, the Celtics wouldn’t be deciding on his punishment, the league would.  Same with tampering, so I don’t think it’s that either.

I bet he did something internal involving management. “Don’t be cheap!” is what I’d be screaming.

Yeah.  He protested by getting suspended so he wouldn’t have to coach with only 60% of a roster.

Tampering?
Domestic abuse?
Assaulting another staffer?
Video-recording other teams' play signals? Spygate Part II?
Gambling?

My gosh...the offseason drama continues.

At the rate this ream is going lately, why not just trade for Kyrie. After the trade, have him burn some of that special sage and lift this curse.

Per Woj on Sportcenter, he said it was NOT a league issue. Internal Cs issue. So that begs the question: what could he have possibly done that would warrant a significant suspension but not a firing?

Some guy (fringe journalist?) who's got some followers among Boston media types tweeted that it's a drug issue - for what that's worth.  That's one I hadn't considered but would make some sense with the vagueness.

Did he get caught doing something not good while under the influence of something? Udoka to rehab?

Tampering? Trying to do what, get KD to force a trade to Boston while keeping Jays?

Inappropriate behavior to someone over something that would force Udoka into completion of sensitivity training?

I am guessing we will know soon enough.

Maybe he’s the source who leaked to Woj that we offered JB, D-White and a first for KD? And now he’s Woj’s source on this breaking news too? Hopefully something relatively innocuous, not assault or harassment, that he can actually come back from. Otherwise, Brad better be ready to be coach and GM. This is supposed to be the year.

could it possibly be related to Timelord surgery decision this close to the season?   strangling the medical staff for botching yet another player's diagnosis?

So his job is secure. What could it be then? Some sort of altercation with someone in the organization? Or he withheld some info on Rob’s injury which led to the sudden surgical procedure?

Like others have said, how can you do something so bad that it gets you an extended suspension, but not get you fired?

This is all kinds of stuff we don't need at the start of a season where we are supposed to be contenders.
