Where do you live that people would tolerate such a comment?
Do they not have churches around you?
They do have churches where I live. Living near churches doesn’t enable indecency. Some churches used to condemn interracial marriage as well.
No real point to trying to reason with bigotry.
Agree, though I also have a problem reading such posts and pretending like it didn’t happen. I think it’s fair to call out bigotry.
It's a tricky line, at least for those with sincerely held religious beliefs.
But, I've never understood "selective Christianity". Love thy neighbor; judge not lest thee be judged; turn the other cheek; let thee without sin cast the first stone; and my own favorite, Matthew 7:5
"How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while there is still a beam in your own eye? 5You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."
Yes, Christ turned over tables, but he wasn't hateful. He hung out with prostitutes and lepers. And, yes, the Bible says men shouldn't lay with men. It also says we shouldn't eat shellfish. We shouldn't get divorced. We shouldn't have premarital, or extramarital, sex. We shouldn't commit sodomy of any nature. There are penalties for cutting your beard and getting tattoos. But, luckily, slavery is generally condoned, at least of non-Israelites.
Picking and choosing only one specific belief to follow seems... odd.
