Why do the Celtics do it?
This may be a short term step backwards but it provides a clear competitive path for the foreseeable future. Everyone has clear defined roles and by getting Mobley we have a long term replacement for Horford and insurance for Williams health issues.
Why do the Cavs do it?
Although Mobley looks very promising, this team and ownership wants to compete now. Currently, the most important position in the NBA is a two way wing. Getting Brown puts them in the mix for a title. Obviously they need a power forward to replace Love but that can be attained later using LeVert, Love and picks. In this situation Brown gets to be the man and demonstrate why hes Batman not Robin.
Why do Suns do it?
Although Bridges is a defensive monster, he was ineffective against Doncic and his strength. Grant Williams is someone whos going to be more effective and someone who fits perfectly next to Ayton. The biggest weakness for the Suns is a lack of support for an ageing CP3. White is on a great contract, lacks ego, and could even allow the Suns to play a three guard closing line-up.
