Utah fans despise Rudy Gay and wanted him out the door before Gobert and Gay were even traded. Said he was a selfish player and doesn't defend anymore. It is remarkable the number of fans who hold contempt for him.

If we're going to use our TPEs we should try to get more of an impact player.

On a less than 7 mil a year salary?

Absolutely. Carmelo, Howard, cousins, lamb, Harrell are all out there and we’re much better players than gay last year. Really confused by people thinking he is worth getting

On that list only Carmelo plays remotely the same position. I agree that Carmelo for the minimum is much better value than Gay on a TMLE deal, but Carmelo may sign elsewhere. Dwight/Cousins/Harrell are all 5s and Lamb is a smaller wing who can't fill that big forward spot.

There really aren't any at those salaries that aren't rookie contract players and those guys are almost never available for the value Boston would reasonably give up.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Lol.
there are 70 players making between $4m and $7m this year. Half are on rookie deals. That's a pretty big pool of players to pick from. And no, journeymen making $5m do not usually cost much to acquire.

you said more of an impact than Gay, I've seen the list, they don't exist.
