So if you are ever in a debate with a crazy person that doesn't think Jerry Rice is the best WR of all time, just use this stat.
Wait…I’ve not followed the NFL all that much since the Junior Seau suicide, but are there actually people who claim Rice is not the best WR of all-time? Who the heck would they suggest as being better? Considering all of the rule changes in favor of receivers and passers in the 21st century, Rice’s 1,848 yard season is more impressive than those who topped it in the last seven years. Same goes for Jerry’s 22 TD season in only 12 games in 1987 (an average of almost 2 TDs per game), and his average of over 20 per reception in 1988. And like you said, his record of yards in his 40s, showing not only how great he was but how great for how long (like Brady with regards to QBs). Anybody who says Rice is not the best WR ever must be a troll, young, and/or dumb.
