I'm a bit surprised by the Kobe pick.  Great player, but there are a minimum of four players I have rated higher, and probably more.  I wouldn't have taken Kobe in the first.

It's a defensible pick, but wouldn't have been my preference.

I hear ya but he is a 5 time nba champ and the 2nd best SG off all time.. Closest thing to MJ there has been and is dominant. Closest to wilts record as well with 81 points. I feel is a good way to start a team..

Hey, this is about building the best and strongest team, not the most "popular" ... much as we love to hate Kobe, there are few people who can objectively say that he isn't one of the best of all time. I support the pick. (TP)

You could argue that his "shooting habits" would negatively effect a team filled with other great scorers though.

That's the great thing about this draft, it's a smorgasbord, and it's gonna be a while before we get to any truly questionable or unwanted picks. Very sweet concept, and the teams will be fascinating ... wish there were the full 30 owners.

I was thinking earlier today that I would be lucky if I got the guy I targeted now I'm stoked that I have choices; although, I'll probably still pick the guy I targeted.
