Yeah, I think we should not only win tonight but should do it in dominating fashion. I also think this team should be able to win a ring with or without Porzingis. Obviously he will help a lot but as with all great teams it mostly comes down to the team’s superstars and their ability to force their will on the game.
I don’t see any team out there that is so stacked that we can’t beat them without Porzingis. Like Curry and Draymond, Jordan and Pippen, Bird and McHale, KG and Pierce, Kobe and Shaq, Joker and Murray, etc… Tatum and Brown have to embrace their roles as superstar alphas on this Boston team, throw everyone else on their shoulders and be the better superstar duo when it matters most in the swing games of each series.
A center rotation of Horford, Kornet, Tillman (who should have already been used against Bam) and Queta is enough to get past The Cavs, Magic, Bucks, Sixers, Knicks or Pacers.
It’s no or worse than Chicago’s center trios in all their runs.
It all comes down to Tatum and Brown. They need to not, drive it and take it - or it doesn’t happen, with or without Porzingis.
All of the above said - obviously Porzingis helps but his injury shouldn’t be an excuse, it should be added motivation for Brown and Tatum to take the reigns and dominate with force of will.
