No offense anyone but if you think that was an ugly win you're not a big fan of playoff basketball. Those are the kinds of games the very best teams of our era, the Spurs and the Pistons, win one or two of every year in the playoffs. As ugly as it was offensively it was a stroke of genius defensively. I watched Lebron and only Lebron for every Cavs possession to see how he was being guarded and there's no doubt in my mind that he'll be equally unsuccessful at penetrating next game. He may knock down those j's but the scheme as well as the job done by individual defenders on him tonight was flat out high performance basketball and should be commended far beyond the flow of the game. What we do offensively doesn't mean a thing, that's why there's 10's of millions going to three superstars, one of them is always bound to step up. Defense is the only priority and by that proportionally I feel as if we scored 140 pts. At no point did I feel we lost the momentum, a swing yes, but not momentum.
Limit turnovers next game, Paul and Ray get 16-20, run a bit more, blowout. Every game will be ugly because it's obvious what Doc's doing. When they bring in their goons, we bring in ours, when they bring in their bench, so do we. Paul said it himself, if they're not running Lebron's not running. We just saw a 90's Knicks game, some dirty plays, hard nosed ball, loved every second of it. Keep it up and the talent will always win and of the remaining teams that's always going to be the C's. Genius strategy. If they play defense like this from now on they'll be the best team since the 72-10 Bulls and that's no exaggeration. It takes a whole team to shut down Lebron but either way that's what happened. My fav game by Doc this season.
Rope-a-dope.
