This really sucks, I really liked him.  What's the deal with everyone dying as of late?

Sports world has been hit hard recently. Alexis Arguello, Steve McNair and now Gatti. He and Mcnair were sooo young. What tragedies. You gave me some of the best boxing matches I ever saw when you fought Mickey Ward. RIP Arturo Gatti.

I was at that first fight with Irish Mickey Ward.  We were at Mohegan Sun for a bachelor party and the crowd was uncomfortably racially charged, in an old school sense.  New York vs Boston battle in the middle ground of Connecticut.  I didn't know of Gatti or Ward walking into the arena that night, but it was the3 best fight I have ever seen.  Sad day...

Really does suck.  Gatti is one of my all time favorites.  Gatti-Ward 1 was the greatest fight I ever saw, but the guy was a warrior every time he stepped in the ring.  Wasn't the greatest, but nobody had more sheer guts and heart.

Here are some great hilights from that fight.  Round 9 was unbelievable (like Jax linked to):

Looks as if Gatti may have been murdered by his girlfriend as the authorities in Brazil have detained her due to inconsistencies in her story and the fact that cause of death looks to be by strangulation from a women's purse strap.

Two great athletes killed by girlfriends in a week. Strange summer so far.

Wow, he must've been drugged or something because I can't see how a woman would strangulate Gatti.

It has been a strange summer indeed... strange last couple of weeks in fact. Tons of celebrities dying.

Gatti was a pleasure to watch, a warrior.
