Been pushing him on this board -- now it looks like Ryan and Danny have been listening....

I like him. Surprised nobody signed him this summer. Definitely an NBA caliber player.

Yeah I haven't seen DJ play much but I'm semi-familiar through fantasy stats.  He's a solid producer.

With all the talk about a center what we really need is another 4.  White could help fill that gap for now and maybe even stick with us longer.

I would add White, and based what I just read below, Henry Sims, both on 10-day deals for now...

I see a mediocre rebounder who appears to have some jump shooting ability. Pretty much a poor man's Brandon Bass.

If I'm any free-agent given multiple options, I wouldn't touch the Celtics for a 10-day contract. Would end up not playing and then discarded so...

I'm down. In a lot of ways he is a lot like this year's version of Brandon Bass. At this point in the season that's not too bad.

We just need a big man. Wilcox is fine as a PF or as a C for our current rotation. Just need any sort of rotation level big man.

Sims and white seem like great targets and could be useful for depth.  God knows we've needed big men for 3 years now.  I'm hopin Danny doesn't sit on his thumbs till these two get away.  I like that he's shopping overseas especially for low risk high reward projects.  We might find some hungry guys that turn out to be just what we need.  Fingers crossed for young bigs!

Cool.  Better than some other names that have been thrown out there.

white would probably be a PF
H. sims is ok 7'0
i'm not sold on a guy who can rebounds but height is too small, like blair or hickson this guys must be in pf, z-boo type,
white is a 6'9 guy, if we can get a 7'0 PF and C 7'0 heck yeah, its like having dirk and tyson

but white is a good pick, not sure though on nba...
if he gets minutes in doc rivers or maybe starter...
not bass, we are good to go

One thing to keep in mind with D.J. White is he's a slightly worse rebounder than Bass.

So he's not going to help us much there.

expecting upgrades at this point in the season is a fantasy, though white could very well be a bass-level player in the NBA. signing white, sims, whoever is about depth. they're better than thin air.

anything to reduce the minutes of garnett, even wilcox, improves our chances of success in the playoffs.

  • Anything is possible!
is this the Charlotte guy who went like 10 for 12 and 7 for 11 shooting against us last year coming of the bench for the bobcats. I remember one bench guy of CHA was creating some trouble for us last year but was this White or someone else?
