Without negativity, we would have no reason to voice our optimism.

The negativity will fade away when the owners assemble a wining team. Elementary, Dr. Watson. This team is going nowhere. Only blinded optimism fuels the optimists. There's a saying: There is no worse blind that one that does not want to see. lolol

I have tended to be one of the more negative posters this year.  I have no illusions that the C's will be a championship contender, unless something extraordinary takes place personnel wise.  That being said, I have been pleasantly surprised by the C's play the last two or three weeks---nothing astonishing, but at least fun to watch, mostly win or lose.  Alot of that enthusiasm has to do with the play of AB, ET, JJ, MP, and CW.  They have energized the team and I tend to be most negative when we lose, and those guys aren't given much time----ie., last nite.
JJ, I believe, could have really had a field day against the Laker reserves!  They are terrible! JJ, ET, and even Steimer could have done well against them and given the whole team a shot of energy!  I blame Doc for that.  He is just so stubborn and instead toasts our Big 3 with near or over 40 minutes apiece!
Sorry to be long winded, but I'll never quit rooting for our C's---just tempering unrealistic expectations.  PLAY OUR YOUNG GUYS!!!! Just makes things so much more interesting!

This is a classic. I like the way you think.

Anyone who was here during 2008 can confirm that it definitely won't.

I agree, these forums are way too reactionary, I don't even bother coming here after a loss just because of the pessimism and hyperbole.

i hear u.  maybe we should post over the top posts/threads after every win....instead of sky is falling threads, there can be celts are going all the way threads. ;D

Tommy point post.  Sober look at the present. I too have been pleasantly surprised by the play of the Celts lately. I believe it's all about making Doc look good. No guts. No gut feeling. Play em till they drop and no one can complain about losing. I'm all about the Team. No allegiance to any player.

What negativity? It's reallity. Wining last night by 20 or losing by 1 wasnt going to change wahrt we are. We are a team with a losing record, with most of our stars with their best years behind them, and with a mediocre Coach that was a guard in his playing days and who seems not to be able, or maybe he dont care too much making his big players at leats try to block out the opposition underneath the basket. Thats waht we are; a medicre team that cannot beat teams with a winning record. There is no negativity hear; I just not in the mood to kid myself with false aspirations. And, for those eternal optimists: Injuries will keep showing up and its going to get worse. Enjoy the dream.

Which reality is this from?  The grammar looks interesting there, at least.

grammar jokes? really?
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

If you want to read negativity, check out the Lakers boards.  When I did the Comments from the Other Side I was amazed at how much they trashed their own team throughout the game.  They really don't like their own team.
That makes me positively happy

It's been hard being a Boston Sports fan this last week.  Losing to the Giants in the superbowl then the Lakers on national TV, it's hard not to be a little embarrassed around here, I wish our teams would help us out a little with some wins.
