They seem to struggle against teams who are missing their best players-- which all boils down to mental. With this roster I fully expect NBA Finals appearance and nothing less.

Agree on the 2nd part, but I'm chuckling at the first part because the team is 58-16. Trust me, if that was true, it'd probably be more like 48-26.
struggle doesn't necessarily mean lose

Okay but does that mean we need to be blowing teams out by 30+ every night? I just think it's a lazy narrative. Yes there was the bad Lakers loss, and the recent Hawks ones. There really hasn't been many losses or even "close wins" against the bad or banged up teams, the C's have taken care of business mostly.

Yeah, we don't have as many "bad losses" as prior years where we've really played down to our competition.  You missed Charlotte and Cleveland without Mitchell, but that's about it.

Rajon Rondo is hanging it up after 16 seasons.

Thank you for the contribution in the 2008 championship, and phenomenal playoff runs in 2009-2013. "Grand Theft Rondo" will be a lore that I won't forget. Still got that shirt somewhere in my closet hehe.

This year's Boston Celtics have a +12.0 Net Rating  which is the 2nd highest of all time behind the 1996 Bulls.  Based on my prediction model, they have a 78% chance of winning the title this year.  Historically dominant.

The irony is, Kyrie was hated in Boston and Porzingis was also hated in Dallas (or at the very least, fans were really disappointed in him which turned into some hate). Now both guys win player of the week awards for the other team and I think both teams and fanbases mutually love their guy now

The Boston Celtics have signed Neemias Queta to a standard contract, making him eligible to play the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs.

Queta’s per-36 stats with Boston this season:
14.5 PTS (61.4 FG%)
13.0 REB (5.6 OREB)
1.8 BLK, 1.7 AST, 1.3 STL

Wonder what the terms are... if they're just to have an extra body for the playoffs in an emergency, or if they include an extra partially-guaranteed year or something like that.  I'd love to keep him around if possible.  I think he can play and I think he has some untapped upside, particularly on the defensive end.

I hope it’s a multi year deal. Q has tons of upside.

We now have 5 centers.

Can't remember last time that we had 5 guys on the roster 6'11 or more

KP, Kornet and Queta; who else? Horford and Tillman aren’t sniffing 6’11

Queta has legit upside and I see him on a Hauser-track. Different positions but Hauser wasn't seen as much initially but after a few seasons with some experience and 1-2 full offseasons, he's turned into an awesome role player for us. I think Queta can be the same a year or two down the road. I can live with a Porzingis, Tillman, Queta, Kornet frontcourt for years to come.
