Double pipe. But it can be made to work in NBA 2k!

Yeah there's NO WAY he's turning down that much money to leave New Orleans, even if by chance Cousins doesn't come back this summer and they are still just middle-of-the-pack next season.

I wonder if Smart, in a way, holds the key to a Davis trade sometime in maybe 2019 or 2020?

It's a gamble, but Ainge could re-sign him between 10-13M/Year, then use that salary (Smart) in a package deal for Davis, which would allow us not to fully gut the team and allow us to keep much of the core (Horford/Kyrie/Hayward and one of Brown/Tatum).

Could especially be true if Cousins doesn't come back to NOP this summer and/or if they possibly underachieve next season. We do have the Kings Pick next year which could be enticing (assuming we don't use it in a bigger deal to trade up this year).

I have to believe if anything someone like Rozier would make more sense and since he fits their team better. Plus while Rozier isn't as great of a defender, he can actually shoot :P

Possibly. Rozier is a RFA next summer. Sign and trade candidate maybe.

But Danny probably won't gamble and will likely sell high on Rozier now. But if he doesn't think there's a good deal out there, maybe he re-signs Smart AND keeps Rozier for another year (and let's him simply walk in 2019)

I predict that the Pelicans give AD as much as humanly possible. I also think that they will eventually give him a wing to play with.

Obviously the Pelicans will give him the $$$ that he can get (which is a ton, for good reason).

And yeah it's kind of a bummer they don't have much cap space, because man Paul George would be PERFECT for them. Maybe if there is tension in MIN but they want to keep KAT, Pelicans can all and inquire about Jimmy Butler (another potentially great fit there).

Of course, we have to see what happens with Cousins first.

I used to operate under the delusion that AD might find his way to Boston, I don't anymore. He's going to get the biggest contract in NBA history from the Pels, as he is the only reason for the franchise to even exist at this point. Their owner has recently passed, and no doubt the league will make sure AD stays in NOLA for no other reason than to keep the franchise afloat..

Oh well, surely there will be another disgruntled star out there to gloss over in the next year or two!

Am I the only one who thinks ADs great year was a large part because of rondos vision and passing? I wonder if rondo will resign with them and how much rondo will get?

You are. His scoring didn't really improve with Rondo compared to without him the year before. His rebounding went down, but defensive stats & shooting % went up by a bit.

Additionally, in the back half of the year he averaged 30/11.7 with 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks per game. I think it might just be a case of the team functioning better with him as the lone big.

All that being said, Rondo was awesome for them, and I hope he can find a way to either stay with NOP, or go to a legitimate contender
