Wow.  Great deal by Dallas...although its disappointing that is all they could get for Dampier's contract.  But to get rid of Carroll, and get Chandler to solidify their front line is a huge.

That's a home run for Dallas.

Charlotte now holds the magical Dampier contract. I hope they spin that asset into something nice, because otherwise, they got nothing of value in exchange for Chandler.

I think they just decline the option, and take the savings.

Both of the deals rumored for Charlotte were deals that were aimed at saving cash this season.  I think they are hurting for money, and also wanted to get far enough under the tax line to use the MLE.

I know.

So, Charlotte goes back to platooning Diop and Mohammed at center?

Will Charlotte cut Dampier?  Is he a viable pickup?

I think he'll be cut, but my guess is Denver is already calling his agent with a full MLE offer.  They have been trying really hard to get all of the top free agent big men, and have missed out, but Dampier may be their man.

Well, Dallas has a good two headed C with Haywood and Chandler.

What happened to Toronto trade? I was looking forward Jose Calderon dishing out assists Tyrus Thomas, Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson.... Too bad MJ pulled the plug on that one.

ha ha, Dallas loading up on the 7footers.

I think that the only thing that could get Dampier to try was a one year vet min contract for a contender.

Hopefully Denver doesn't try to sign him to the MLE.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Maybe they trade Dampier to Minny for Jefferson and Diaw to us for Sheed... Doubtful but who knows, I can't believe Jordan pulled out of the trade after it was announced done. That could cost him in future negotiation opportunities.

Yea, Woj says Damp is very likely to be cut very soon. Hope this doesn't mean Damp to Miami as well.
