Blazers blew it today.

Looks like 9th seed will have to defeat MEM 2x in a row.

If the Blazers cant beat an Embiidless Sixers then what makes us think they stand a chance against the Fakers.

I want the Suns to beat the Grizz then make like miserable for LeCry.

Didn't the blazers win tonight?

Its crazy how a pick from 2015 has survived this long

And it could survive one more year if the pick is 14th and it drops to below 6.  Which imo would suck

As Grizzlies will be better next season plus get a top 5 pick. Only helps their team

Griz outperformed their talent this season.  West is deep.  They would not be favored to make playoffs next season.  So would likely be another late lottery pick in a deeper better draft.

Brooklyn locked up the #17 slot with today's win. Memphis pick will be 14-16.

#14 slot only has a 2.4% chance of moving up.

Funny to see that the Kings are probably #12 slot this year again after last year's T-12th pre-lottery finish.

It happened with Derrick Rose and the Bulls, right? It'd be nuts if it happened for the Cs, and a little bit of karma with the way the Cs picks have generally dropped.

Agreed.

figure the locks to finish with a better record are:
Lakers, Clippers, GSW (assuming Curry/Klay are healthy), OKC, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Portland (assuming healthy), NO (assuming healthy).  That's 9 right there.

Add in Utah and the Spurs as probably finishing better, that's 11.  Toss in Phx which is doing very well in the bubble and certainly has the talent to be better, we're now at 12.

That leaves Minny and Sac as the two that aren't locks or even in the discussion but they will have lottery picks this year and are not exactly bereft of talent either.  Minny still has KAT and Russell and Sac has Fox, Hield and Bagley which is a good core when healthy.

I doubt Memphis ends up as the worst in the West but they're a lot closer to the bottom than the top or real playoff contention.  Carrying that pick to next year, as unlikely as it is to happen, would be a huge gain for the C's.

while the #17 slot had zero. i will take those odds.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

wondering if in the event Orlando catches them with a tie record after the games are done, if Mem has the play-in game and wins, would that put them in the 16th draft slot or would Orlando get it by virtue of not having to play a play-in game

There are still a lot of permutations but in this but specific to Memphis, if they beat Milwaukee, they are either the 8 seed if Portland (vs BKN) loses or the 9 seed if Portland wins.  Portland has been playing well.  Seems they should win.

If Memphis loses, they need both Phoenix (vs. DAL) and San Antonio (vs. UTA) to lose to still be the 9 seed.  You would think one of PHO or SAN would be able to win.

So hopefully, if Memphis wins, Portland will also win and they will be the 9 seed, lose the play in and be in the lottery; or if Memphis loses, hopefully PHO or SAN will win and Memphis is out of the playoffs and in the lottery.

I think this will come down to how much Milwaukee actually plays their regular rotation.  MEM may end up with a win against the MIL bench.
