$17.5 million a season ... sorry, I just did the math. I knew it was bad but wow!

We need an Evan Turner appreciation thread.  He was arguably one of the 2 best players on this team since the playoff run two seasons ago and yet people here acted like he was garbage.  Losing him without making a significant addition can hurt us more than I think a lot of people realize.

I'd say ET was the Celtics 4th best player behind Isaiah, Crowder, and Bradley.

The 76ers never should have let him go.

Drafting Brown just looked better.

And if you deflate to the old cap its still around 12 million per year, just nuts.

It will be. Jaylen Brown won't be able to replace E.Turner. Jaylen is too raw and inefficient.

No it doesn't! People say he's the worst pick possible at 3! People who have never seen him play a game in the NBA are saying that! Surely, SURELY they are right!
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Overlooked part of this - it's finally time to see Smart shine in the second unit! He's going to be leading a unit of Rozier, Brown, KO, and Mickey. I'll think he'll now make a pretty good leap this year.

Time for James Young to show up or show out.

1. I'll Miss Turner. He played well for us.
2. I probably wouldn't have been willing to give him 50 and 4, let alone 70 and 4.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted Turner back, but I was a little surprised at this signing, and I wonder if his agent ever had any discussions with Ainge.

I am glad, though, that Boston (apparently) wasn't going to pay him this kind of money. He's good, but he's not that good.

Congratulations, ET, and good luck!

This. I think he will figure it out this year. Time on the ball is exactly what he needs. No more standing in the corner and catch and shooting.

Turner said he never talked money with Celtics. Was told they first had to talk to their bigger targets - namely Durant and Horford

Turner has been told by Blazers he will start alongside Lillard and McCollum.

Hate to say it but it makes sense after seeing the rest of the signings. Smart and Rozier are going to have to step up as ball handlers.
