I prefer historical drafts much more than current player ones. So if we are thinking historical, I'm in, if current, I'll probably pass.
I similarly prefer historical too. Can you remember any of the variations you had mentioned previously?
I think one was only top 10 picks. I kind of liked that one as most of the all time greats would be there, but filling out a bench you'd have to go with greats or busts. Not all that many solid bench options doing that (guys like Shane Battier aren't all that common in the top 10).
I think another was you could only draft 1 player per team of 1st season. So if you drafted Bird, you couldn't draft Cousy, Russell, Pierce, etc. (but you could draft the Chief, Garnett, Allen, etc.). And I'd do 1st season instead of drafting team because of all the draft day and post draft trades. So Wiggins would be Wolves, Kobe Lakers, etc.
I'm sure there are other options we could do to mix things up.
