Great overall team effort. Not sure anyone played poorly. Sadly the officials we're poor or else the Celtics win by 25-30 points.

It's a business.

Refs making sure that NBA fans will keep watching.

If Celts win by 25 or 30 points, that would not be good for business.

All those whistles made the game nearly unwatchable though.

In nationally televised games it's very obvious that the refs try to keep the games close.  But this game was inexcusably bad.

I’m a way it’s good, if we had blown them out by 30 we may have gone into the break thinking all was good. This hard fought win should tell them they have plenty to work on

Good win though and with Indiana losing we’re only 1 game out of 3rd seed

Agree.

A hard fought win is better than a blowout because it doesn't make the players complacent.

NBA fans won’t be watching too many games if they’re officiated as poorly as that, they killed the flow of the game completely
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Wow. That second half was the longest, most atrocious half of basketball I've ever seen.

Also, noticed a bad habit with Tatum. He clearly lost focus after the Celts built up a 28 point lead (we know what happened the last time the Celts had a 28 pt lead.)

He needs to work on that and/or someone pull him aside and advise him to correct that, asap.

It is what it is.

I've been watching the Celts and the NBA for more than 30 years now.
Nothing's changed.

Tatum turned the ball over and played hero-ball too much. He has to improve his defense too.

Basketball fans love the NBA no matter what.

I think we'll just have to take the good with the bad.

Celts fans were not complaining when there was no foul called on Horford against Embiid last night.

He's just 20 years old.

But for a 20-year old, Tatum is already way ahead of the learning curve.

What stands out in this game to me is the Celts winning the rebounding battle.

Celts win comfortably and one of the reasons why is they controlled the boards, allowing few Detroit offensive rebounds.

I think rebounding will play a big role for the Celts in the playoffs.
If Celts rebound well, I think they will go deep into the playoffs and reach the Finals.

Exactly. It's not ripping Tatum. It's expecting more of him because he's head and shoulders better than your average 20 year old.
