Straight up trade.  Maybe get a future 2nd in the bargain.

Ridnour is an expiring and a nice veteran point guard to be a leader.

Lee is a guy the T-Wolves supposedly liked and he's a decent role player of the sort they could use (3 and D with ability to play both wing positions).
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Only problem is old management liked Lee. There is a new GM now, and might feel differently. I'd pull the trigger though.

I wonder if Minnesota will still be interested in Courtney Lee now.

They added Shabazz in the draft and already had Alexey Shved. Presumably the two guard minutes will go to them.

Then again, Budinger is coming off the books so maybe they choose to use Shabazz as a backup SF and bring in a Courtney Lee to start at two guard.

PG - Rubio, Barea
SG - C.Lee, Shved
SF - Kirilenko, Shabazz
PF - Love, D.Williams
C  - Pekovic, Dieng

That would be a pretty deep team.

Every trade we make should bring us picks, young players, and/or cap flexibility.

This trade brings us cap flexibility so I would be 100% behind it.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think part of the idea is to get rid of the extra years on Courtney Lee's contract.

Ridnour is an expiring contract.

Will the Wolves get a better offer than Lee for Ridnour??  Probably not.  They are trying to move Luke!!!

http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/213690041.html

"They're trying to trade Luke Ridnour and/or J.J. Barea to clear one of their $4 million-plus salaries and will waive backup center Greg Stiemsma before his $2.5 million contract becomes guaranteed for next season."

Looks like we might soon be able to sign Steamer as a free agent:-))

P.S.  I was asking for us to get Luke months ago as well.  Nice call.

If they are trying to get rid of Ridnour to clear salary, why would they want Lee's salary in return?

They're not trying to dump salary for cap space, they're trying to not have that many point guards.  (Thanks Kahn!)  One rumored possibility is for a deal involving Ekpe Udoh.

I would rather go after JJ Barea than Luke Ridnour (if both are in the offering).

I think the team needs someone like Barea more. Barea gives more dribble penetration and playmaking whereas Ridnour is more of a setup guard.

Oh, I read that they view Shabazz as a SF. That they brought him to provide depth there.

So his addition shouldn't effect the Wolves' possible interest in Courtney Lee.

Kirilenko is opting out so I think his future with the Wolves is in serious doubt.  In fact, I think he is definitely gone.

Zero interest in this type of move.
