Title: Poll: What scrub steps up big and becomes a rotation player
Post by: KG Living Legend on September 26, 2017, 04:11:53 AM

The 9 man Rotation is set. Horford, Morris, Hayward, Brown, Irving, Smart, Tatum, Baynes, Rozier. IMO we need one of Theis, Yabu, or Semi to step up big and complete our rotation.

Likely Theis or Yabu, maybe even both since we're thinner than a runny nose down low.

I think Semi projects as a better defender than Yabu. I might be wrong. Similar I guess..

I think it will be Theis getting Jerebko type minutes.  Not every game, but in certain situations, he will play.  At least I believe that is the hope.  We shall see if he is good enough.

Yabusele, Ojeleye, Larkin, are D-League plus players, not quite ready for the NBA.  Theis may not be either of course so a very possible answer to this poll is none of the above.  I peg Theis as most likely though.

Why are these guys, other than maybe Larkin, labeled as scrubs? They're all rookies or sophomores that haven't even gotten a chance to prove themselves yet.

I said Semi. Brad already went on record praising his D so he should be a solid defender off the bench. He should be mainly a 3 and D guy, and unlike so many other skills that require adapting to NBA speed and nuance, if he can move off the ball pretty well his ability to hit good looks from 3 should translate immediately.

I think Theis would be my second choice, but I also think he could bomb. I don't think Yabu is good enough on D and I don't think Nader looked effective at anything but shooting open 3's in SL, though I liked him the year before.

I think Semi for this year but Dancing Bear long term.

I stand behind this comment. Semi is ready now. Yabu could be a force at  PF in time.

I voted Theis. The dancing bear intrigues me though and, while Theis might be solid, the bear could be special.
