Is Reddick a buyout candidate?
If he is, then it's a matter of whether his legs are gone.  If they are that shooting percentage is not likely to improve much.

I have no interest in Ball at $11M.  I don't see him filling a single need.

Regarding Reddick and his 2 seasons at $13M per, I would rather have Thad Young.

The downside with Thad Young is that he's already 32. Besides that he would be a good get.
Always liked his game. Same goes for his teammate, but unless it's a buy-out, it's really hard to make the money work in a trade for Porter.

Resigning Ball makes no sense for the Celtics, so why trade for him?
And Redick is really washed, he's unplayable in the playoffs.
I'd rather see Pritchard get regular minutes in the playoffs anyway.
And no, you can't play Redick with Walker or Pritchard and don't expect to get punished for it on the defensive end.

I'd really like Ball and Hayes. I guess that would be a fire sale at that point.

I'm unsure if the hot take on Reddick being cooked are people watching the Pelicans play or just looking up his shooting %s.

New Orleans runs some really awful offense causing lots of late and poor quality looks. Beyond JJ being put in bad positions SVG has Lonzo playing off ball causing guys to just stick on JJ.  If we were all Pelicans fans instead of Celtics fans we'd be having some seriously heated conversations about our coaching and play style.
ok fine

I'm not sure if Redick lost his legs or not, but even SVG has said that he takes the blame for getting Redick poor percentage opportunities.

I like Reddick

Right now he isnt playing well

I would give up a 2nd and Edwards.  Absorb his contract via tpe
Carsen Edwards, funnily, has been much better than JJ Reddick this year at basically everything

True. But I would still trust Reddick more come playoffs

If we can get JJ, it has to be done.  I’d feel a lot more comfortable with him squaring up for a 3 off a kick out than anyone on our bench as well as some of our starters.  Get it done now Danny!!

I really like Ball.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Redick has been a lot better the last 7 games at 34.9% and that includes the 0-6 last game, without that he had a string of 6 games where he was at 40.5% on 6.2 attempts.  The 7 games before that he was terrible at 11.5%.  His first game was great, but even including that his first 8 games he shot 24.3% from 3.  The real question is, is Redick shot or has it just taken him awhile to get going and he will be back into the 40% shooter he has been in his career.  I don't know the answer to that, but if you think he is going to go back up, now would be the time to acquire him before his value recovers.

I like Ball a lot in the right situation.  The right situation is not New Orleans and it is not Boston.  That said, if the price was low enough he definitely be worth taking a flyer on, I just doubt the price would be low enough.
