It is funny to me that Stern is insisting players give up money because the league isn't finacially healthy yet is making the 2nd highest salary in the league (behind only Kobe Bryant). Maybe owners losing money should look to trim the commissioner's pay first. Each team could cut a half million of their losses and he'd still be making $8 million. Sounds about right to me.

Can you link to where you read he makes that salary?  I have heard very different numbers.

Yeah, I read that, too ... it was New York Daily News article that claimed he made $23 million last year, though people have been trying to verify it, and seems no one really knows.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Although I bet the owners feel he is worth every penny they pay him.  Even if most of the owners have no idea how much he makes.
