I just want to be a bit more happy. I've felt a streak of negativity (just getting worked up over little idiotic things) bother me for a long time now. It has to end!

it will.  u have people in ur corner :)

Yes, I know and am thankful for it.

I have made a resolution not to drink during the week.  Im going back to school at night starting the end of January and I know from studying for the gmats that on the nights i dont have class if I come home from work and have a beer, the odds of me doing work drop exponentially!

I still haven't come up with a new one, so I will just continue last year's, which was to take more notice and be more helpful to my neighbors.

There are 72 condos in my building.  I bought this condo from a man  who had been living alone, in squalor, after having a stroke!  I felt so bad when I heard his story that I decided to make sure "that" didn't happen again.  (I had been living in the same building, about 100 feet away for five years, and had never made an attempt at meeting most of my neighbors.  We had to completely gut and redo the condo before we could move in.)

One of the couples (who now live directly above me) was very unfriendly to everyone.  I started talking to her every time I saw her.  Then I made them cookies.  (I told her she was a Massachusetts Snob, she doesn't like anyone! ha ha ha.)  She went to the hospital for a knee replacement and  I took them up a couple meals.  The other day I was up on the second story walkway and her door was open so I started talking to her...she yelled for her husband to let me in. She said "I only talk to people I don't like through the door, my friends are welcome in."  (I don't think anyone else has been in her condo...which is beautiful, by-the-way...my ego would have me inviting everyone in!)

Anyway, for lack of imagination in finding a new resolution, and because last year's made me some friends AND made me feel useful, I will just continue it.

It took me a long time to stop biting my nails, which I only was able to do because of an argument I had with someone about how important it was to end their addiction. Then maybe a year ago I broke one freaking nail and started biting it again.  Now my kid is starting.  I must stop. I must. I'm almost there. I think in two more weeks I'll be out of the woods
Update. Achieved for the time being. Thank you God.
