Jerome Moiso, who was I was super high on like a lot of players who had great physical tools.  I always thought it would be just a matter of time before they developed into very good players.  Others were guys like Stojko Vrankovic and Kedrick Brown.  Now I wish I had chosen my runner-up name- Frank Drebin, Leslie Nielsen's character in the Naked Gun movies.

Mine is too complicated and came from like 1997 when I was creating an email. I first joined here in 2005 and was still using it. In hindsight, I should have gone with something more fun/memorable.

-Anyway, Jam is the first part of my name. I also like(d) NBA Jam and saw it is as bball related.
-br, the initials of my favorite band (to this day), Bad Religion.

I love star wars.

And it is obviously a cross between 2 of the greatest, most well known characters of the universe.

Darth Vader and Grand Master Yoda.

Also, I find the concept of an evil Sith corrupted Darth Yoda a fun concept.

This is a simple thread born out of curiosity. We have have CS names, mine being Hwangjini_1.

I am curious as why you all picked the names you did. Some are easy to figure out when they have "Celtic" as part of them. But others leave me scratching my head.

So, do me and everyone a favor and let us all know about your CS name.

And to kick it off.... Hwangjini is the name of a poetess born in 16th century Korea. Long ago I translated a collection of her works and was greatly touched by her writing, her intellect, her honesty, her emotions. Since then, Koreans have made some interesting movies loosely based upon her life, and even a TV series.

So, in honor of her, I adopted this name.  ;D

Here is more info on her for those who are curious folks.

I've been a fan since the early 70's, but Larry Bird is my all time favorite NBA player and the Celtics are my team, thus BosCel33.  To take it one step further, the pic is from my all time favorite cartoon strip.

Way back when in the stone age, I started looking for some instant updates about the Celtics' potential acquisition of Garry Payton (or maybe it was getting Antoine back...it was that season anyhow).  I'd never been involved in any blogs or forums or internet kind of hangouts.  I don't even think there was a Facebook yet.

Anyhow...I found Celtics Blog and started digging for updates and insights in the forum.  I created an account with no expectations of having a social presence whatsoever.  This was soon after Red Auerbach had passed, so I made a pun that I thought only I would understand.  Taking a line from Pulp Fiction - Who's Zed?  Zed's Dead Baby, Zed's Dead...I went with Redzdeadbabyredzdead.

Now, I had no idea how involved I'd get in the forums or how that name could be perceived as an extension of my personality, but I rolled with it for a while.  Eventually, when I was to be a Mod, we thought it might be best to lose the DeadBaby part and shortened it to just Redz (which is what most people were calling me anyhow).

My login info still requires the old Redzdeadbabyredzdead name though!

Awful....

Next I need to fix up that offensive avatar  ::)
Yup

My name is a carryover from one of my nerd hobbies in another corner of the internet.  I used to write a little bit, and Atzar was one of my characters.

I don't write anymore but I kept the name anyway.

Back in high school I had big glasses and short poofy brown hair, so everyone just started calling me Rick Moranis.  Nickname stuck all through high school and I've used it online since.

Before Jeff (ranter) started Celticsblog the Boston Globe ran a Celtics blog.  The back and forth was more like texting and there was a smaller, daily, hardcore group.

At the time I was listening to the Clash a lot and used feckless from the song Rudie can't fail.

How you get so rude and reckless?
Don't you be so crude and feckless
You been drinking brew for breakfast
Rudie can't fail!

I always pick a snake theme and use random associations to keep anonymous.  I don't like it when my friends randomly recognize my handle on some site like this!  No particular tie to Quetzalcoatl other than I like the little Aztec guy getting eaten avatar I found

Roy Hobbs = the alias Paul Pierce used at hotels

Quote
Dan Patrick: Do you have a favorite alias that you've used on the road?
Paul Pierce: Roy Hobbs. Since I beat everybody in pool and tennis and softball, the guys were like, "Man, you're a natural." I practiced nothing. It just came naturally.
i did not know this. and i did not know you were paul pierce.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
