Despite the many mixed thoughts on Marcus on court, his off court actions speak volumes to his character.

Bonus -- I love that brand new teammate Kyrie matched the charitable donation and donated gear

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Yup, if you take a look at Smart's history and past, you can see why he plays the basketball game with so much passion. He's living the dream through his brother, and you can see how cancer, drugs, and other vices that have taken people's lives have become the reason Smart created the YGC foundation to this day.

It's an honorable thing to believe in, and not surprised that someone like Kyrie Irving can get behind. This is why I think we're gonna keep Smart. He's the glue to our team, and this will open many doors for the Celtics too.

Happy for Sammy to have fought long and hard to stay cancer-free!

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

That was a very nice article. Count me as someone who likes Marcus on this team. Apparently, he is equally as impressive off the court too. Thank you for the link - TP.

If you're looking for a cause to donate to, you can't do much better than Boston Children's. Nicely done.

Having had a child with cancer, this article struck a nerve. Marcus is such a special person for giving hope to Sammy Dubois and her family. And kudos to Kyrie and Palotta for their donations to send the Dubois' to London.

TP for such a great article.
