i personally love this from Kyle Draper. Nice to see some ridiculous Gus Johnson-like calls from the Celtics booth for once

not saying we should replace Mike Gorman, but maybe every once in a while, give him a night off for Kyle "bang-bang-bang" Draper.
Quote
Even at the end of the game, we lined up in different formation that he hadn't seen and he called out our play before I got the ball. I heard him calling it out. -John Wall on Brad Stevens

Huge fan of Gus Johnson.  I appreciate what Draper is trying to do here, but it just feels like 2 "bang"s too many.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He was okay but his 'mmmmm"s on every second play were incredibly distracting. I think thst was a nerves/excitement thing.
If he gets it under control he'd be much better.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I honestly can't stand Kyle Draper. He feels like he's trying too hard to impress and get everyone to like him. I feel like he always has a cringe-worthy statement whenever he talks.

I just can't quite shake the feeling that he's that guy who everyone dislikes but who tries really hard to get everyone to like him.

Sounds like he reminds you of someone else.  Try to judge his play-by-play on its own, without all the commentary he does on the CSN news broadcast.  He was actually "OK" at play-by-play, I would say even pretty good if you consider it was his first time.

I couldn't really stand him. "Bang bang bang" and "mmmm" was driving me insane
