Which Celtics (current players) will be here for the next championship?

The rebuild has been underway for a couple years now (I am arbitrarily starting with  the end  of the new Big Three:  Ray, KG and Pierce).  There are no players left of the 2008 Championship team.  The drafting has begun of promising young players, and the trading is underway.  All the All Stars and Champions have now departed and it is time to develop new ones.

Who, if any, of the present Celtics  do you expect will still be here to help raise the next championship banner?  Do you expect a drawn out rebuild, or a relatively quick one?

i dont think any of them will.  Smart and Young will be required on any deal bringing any kind of game changing player in here via trade.  Neither are good enough at this level yet for Danny to be able to say you can have one, but not both.

All the other guys in the long run are too flawed and by the time we're ready to contend their deals will have been up and signed elsewhere for the money we didnt want to give them

Danny is not going to use all picks he has to draft players.  I expect some fireworks by 2015 draft night

Given the number of teams in the NBA and the way the league currently works, it's just not easy to win it all.  There will be at least one team go 100 years without winning a title - it's not like the NFL where the deck gets easily re-shuffled.  Unless something happens with the collective bargaining agreement to allow for more player movement, its just unrealistic for any team in the Celtics position to expect to win it all anytime soon without some luck.

And I agree, it could be a long rebuild.  I'll go with 0. 

But the as for who will be here when this team finally gets competitive again, that's a different story - I'll say Smart, Young, KO and maybe Crowder.  Of course if depends on how you define 'competitive'.  I define it as comfortably over .500.
