No, I think there's a better chance of keeping Kyrie past next season than Leonard, and I think Kyrie is more valuable given that the team has three elite wings on the roster but Kyrie is the only elite guard.

What you're gonna do with Kawhi, Jaylen, Tatum, and Hayward?  Who plays point?

I want at least one elite pick and roll handler / scorer on the team.

Rozier and sober ty lawson?

I said elite.  Rozier just isn't good enough for me.  I want an All-Star  (ideally All-NBA) caliber player handling and pressuring the defense.



I really just want Kyrie - Jaylen - Hayward - Tatum - Horford for next season, that's all.


Even if the trade is basically Rozier + Jaylen + filler + picks for Kawhi -- which seems semi-plausible -- what's the cap situation in two years?  There's no way to keep that team together, right?


Let LA roll the dice on Kawhi.  LeBron can go to LA too.  More talent conglomerates in the West.  The Celts stay on their current path and will only have to go through the Raps and Sixers to make the Finals.  Sounds perfect.

I generally agree with you and would prefer to just go with what we have. If Danny was more confident Leonard would sign than Irving though I would understand and still think we could win the title

NO.  I build a team around both Kyrie and Kawhi.  It's silly to trade a key piece like Kyrie who has shown he fits in with the team when you can offer other assets, and the Celtics have a TON of assets.

Kyrie, Hayward, Leonard, Tatum, Horford is a SUPER team!

I'd give up Brown, Morris, Smart or Rozier, Kings 1st, and other 1st round picks to land Leonard in Boston.

Kawhi damaged his rep in my humble opinion. Yes, that gives danny a buy low scenario ...but I don't get good vibes ... feels like we need to win with THIS squad!
