so its update time - I took the boys job, just made our cuts today, only cut 3 kids, kept 14, which is probably too many, but a few kids just work so hard it was tough to get rid of them - I think we'll be ok, I have a solid starting 5, and my 6th and 7th guys are solid, after that big big dropoff, especially with bigmen.  We'll make it work though. Getting 14 guys into a game is tough, but it'll happen, we just need to learn  how to play the game - I love this time of year, when its all unknown - I just know its our team

Having coached boys and girls, I don't think there's really a bad decision there.

But, as pointed out above, I do think that coaching girls is a must experience as you gain coaching experience. It's a marvelous way to improve your communication skills, as well as mastering the teaching of the specifics.

its funny, there's a lot of political things going on with our program, and the back of my mind keeps saying, should have taken the girls job, but I'm still very happy - had our first real practice yesterday and it was very productive, began teaching the kids how to actually shoot, which 9 out of 10 don't know how to do, worked on defenses, found extra time and space to work on ft's after practice - all in all a good time

iafter that big big dropoff, especially with bigmen

put one small kid on pizza diet
teach him NOT to shot from mid range
make your best player takes him under his wing
make him take the small kid from the hand and yell at him and make him cry
and u will have a servicable backup pf
