Personally I don't think Rogaine works at all, but Propecia would definitely help slow it down.  It can be a bit pricey, but its worth it.

Don't marry my wife...or anyone like her lol!

She just got on my case at 7am that I should not use 3 sugars in my coffee, she uses 2 sugars... Seriously whats the freaking difference?

I told her she was a sugar nazi and to worry about her sugar intake not mine!!

So put three sugars in your coffees daily and you should be all set!

Marry my wife and go bald fast and get tongue lashed about sugar and cigars... dont even mention a cigarette!

In an emergency situation once I got a haircut from this asian woman who shampooed me and I could barely understand what she said. Expensive as heck haircut, but it was a haircut I won't forget. It was soooo goood. I love haircuts. There. I said it.

Anyway she was like "tap the top of your head with all your fingers a few minutes a day and that's good, because it will get the blood flowing and make your hair healthier."

She has a point. Hair is protein. It needs blood. The top of your head logically gets the least blood.

Also hats are either good or bad for hair loss, but I'm not sure which. Or maybe I'm wrong. But research that

the Matthew Gardson's free method - is one of the best solutions, IMO. It really regrows hair because I have already tried it and now, I have all my hair back. Just use it 3-4 times a week

best thing to do is to come to grips with losing hair.  I started losing mine in my mid-20's and am bald on top.  best thing I did was cut it short to eliminate a god-awful combover.

the one saving grace is that my younger brother went bald at a younger age, lost it faster and is balder than I am.  if nothing else, younger brothers are good for needling about those things.

For the heck of it i'll man up and show what results I got with propecia (generic finasteride)

Here's a before (Feb 2009) and after (Oct 2010):

... I'll lose it all eventually... I have to keep it short or the widows peak will be obnoxious... but it'll do for now.

Wow the pics are impressive.  I never believe the commercials, but a fellow CB probably doesn't have a vested interest.  TP

It's almost entirely genetic, but there's a few things you can do to help.

Make sure you have plenty protein, iron, and zinc in your diet.

Increase the blood flow to your scalp.  How do you do this?  Well, I hadn't heard of it, but eja117's post about tapping your head with your finger tips sounds reasonable.  The option I've heard is basically hanging upside down.  Inversion tables work great for this (and do your spine wonders too).

Cut down on sugars and grains (that turn into sugar).  Insulin resistance is thought to contribute to hair loss.

At the first signs of hair loss, do something about it.  It's much easier to maintain it using the tips above, or the products mentioned in this thread, than it is to grow it back after its gone.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away.

I'm in the same boat, I just turned 20 and my hairline has receded about a full inch in the last year (and it's still going..) it's not an easy fact to accept and it's really hitting my confidence pretty hard. I've always been a big hair guy too with the styles and all so it's sort of tough to handle.

That's pretty remarkable success, LarBrd33.

I have also read that the supplements Zinc and Selenium are good for at least slowing hair loss.

I have heard that washing it in vinegar helps but I don't know of any scientific evidence there is to back that up.

I know vinegar is somewhat of a miracle liquid but....
It's also good for when your head has that no so fresh feeling,  :D

Carribean, can you give a brief synopsis of what Mathew Gardson's Method consists of (if it's not too much bother).  Meanwhile, I guess I'll google.
