I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like it's time to give up on any fantasies you might still be clinging on to about Sully finally learning the meaning of moderation. He was caught on camera last week at the Akron Canton Am-Pro, looking as fat and slow as ever.

If he can't get it together for two months of the off season before a contract year, he never will. Given his weight-related injury issues, I think we would have to value him at something like 50% of his on-court production, which would put him in the $15m/3yr range.

Anyway, enjoy the highlights:

OMG. I knew it! Super sad because he was our best young guy for awhile and looked like an answer at the 4.

He has 4 months to get into best playing shape ever.

You mean...there were actually some people who REALLY believed that stuff?

I thought they were just playing along with the joke  ;D

It's only been 7-8 weeks. How much of a physical change were you expecting in that time? Sully looked liked he might have lost some weight. You can't expect him to suddenly look like Karl Malone, especially given he might have taken some time off at the end of the season to heal up some.

That bouncing ass is really a spectacle.

Contrary to most people, I do not think it's pizza.

This is Ben & Jerry's for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He actually looks like he's put on some muscle in his arms around his triceps.
I wonder if he's trying to put on some actual muscle rather than his natural 'fat' weight, before cutting down.

Anyone else think he's bulking with weights before cutting?
I guess he could just be a fat lard forever...
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

When he hurt his foot/ankle he should have hit the weight room like most athletes do.

His arms look like it tightened up a bit.
I still have some hope in this guy.
So talented. Just gotta turn some fat into muscles.
His butt is always gonna be there, unfortunately.
You can do this Sully.

Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. Tits.

Not sure what Sullinger you guys were watching last year, because he's definitely slimmer.  He's still a bigger guy.

Not that I'm surprised, but 7-8 weeks is enough time to see a noticeable difference.  This isn't some guy who works 8 hours a day with a million responsibilities who is trying to find an hour a day to work out.  His job is to work out and he has elite trainers to work with him all day as well as dietitians.  No one is expecting him to suddenly look like Karl Malone, but noticeable weight loss should be expected.
