Smart and rozier do not pair well

We need to let go of one and get a consistent 3 and D scoring guard

Bench is 2/13 for six points. Starters are 15/25 for 42 points.

Rozier and Ojeleye are so terrible.  Marcus Smart is either great or terrible... no in between. We need another good bench player preferably someone who can actually put the ball in the hoop.

As usual bench sucks. Smart only has a positive +/- because he played with the starters for extended minutes, Horford only has a negative +/- because he played with the bench for extended minutes.

Honestly the offense needs to run through Tatum on the bench... Brad already staggers his minutes so he plays with the bench. He’s the only consistent scorer.

Horford only has a negative +/- because he played with the bench for extended minutes.

Horford was not good with the bench on offense in that stretch.  He passed up a wide open score in the paint to kick out to three (another bad Rozier brick), bobbled a dime from Smart, and in general didn't look for his shot much when it was needed.

Well, would you look at that. The bench is giving up points even to this scrub team.

At this point my only guess is that Brad is trolling us all with these continued dumb rotations with the bench. Does anyone really believe that a Larkin, Rozier, Smart, Theis, and Al lineup will work out there? Ugh, at least have one of Brown or Tatum out there, too.

It really should not be this difficult.

I think a lot of coaches look (stubbornly) at the long game, meaning he wants this unit to figure it out come playoffs.  And he seems to have emphasized limiting starters' mins to be healthy for the playoffs. I remember IT mentioning that right before the playoffs last year.

Sure, which is definitely smart. But you can still stagger these guys better without significantly increasing our main guys' minutes. Yeah, it'll mean fewer minutes with your five preferred guys on the floor all at once, but we'd certainly make up for that by not going on huge scoring deficits in those all/primary bench lineups.

This is especially true once Morris gets back and is healthy, let alone Hayward, too. There's just no reason whatsoever that Brad can't always have two of Kyrie, Al, Tatum, Brown, or Morris out there, yet he regularly goes with only one or none of those guys in the lineup, which just doesn't make sense to me given how bad our bench has struggled.

Yeah, I mean I agree with you.  But Bradley seems to get stuck in his ways.  The bench truly does suck though.  I wish we had drafted Portis over Rozier.  And Hayward's injury screwed the bench up.

Maybe there is ring chasing veteran that asks for buyout in a few months, then we flash the dpe at him to come play for a ring

People need to give this idea up this year.  Tatum does not consistently show enough ability to find his own shot, create for others, and shoot off the dribble to positively run a bench unit in the NBA yet.  He shows flashes but it is not there, even when he is with the starters who draw more attention he isn't lighting it up.  He is hitting good open shots.  With a defense focusing on him, he can't run anything yet.
