Why is Porzingis getting called for som many technicals?  He doesn’t seem to be very demonstrative or insulting.

He is leading the league in T’s and lapping the field in the early going.  It seems like the refs have it out for him for some reason.  Any theories?  Just a coincidence that is skewed by early results?

At least 2 of those are for throwing the ball back through the hoop after a make and 1 was for hanging on the rim to long after a dunk.

But the hanging too long was complete BS.

One of them was for flopping, I don't know if those are included in those
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

He’s already up to 6??? I didn’t realize this. I thought he was at 4 after that rim hang

I’m hopeful the C’s have some appeals in on a couple of those.  It was a very marginal flop from my recollection — contact was made, — the rim hang was silly, and there was no reason to call anything other than a delay of game on at least one of the balls back through the hoop.

Anyway, last year he only had 7 for the season, and the year before he had 6, so hopefully this is a blip and he settles into his normal rate.

Porzingis need to watch out for the technicals. They could be costly in the playoffs.

That said, Celtics need to back him and help rescind those unwarranted T's. And tell the refs to grow a pair or improve on their eyes.

I believe the flopping and rim hanging ones don’t count towards the total you can have before suspension, so that helps some.

I think a lot of the players rim hang so they have time to look down and make sure they're not landing on someone's foot. You could easily roll an ankle doing that. That said, how long is too long to hang on the rim? Do they time every one? Seems very arbitrary.

I’m pretty sure rim-hanging does, since it’s considered taunting.  The flopping is new (Porzingis got the first one) so I don’t know about that.

I know the flopping techs don’t count against you for getting thrown out of the game at 2 techs, so if that was the case I wouldn’t think they’d count towards your season total that would result in suspension

That would seem consistent.  Or perhaps it only counts for Celtics players and no one else  ;D
