Some Jaylen numbers for this year and last
PPG: 18.8 up from 13.0
RPG: 6.4 up from 4.2
APG: 2.0 up from 1.4
MPG: 30.0 up from 25.9
TOPG: 1.2 down from 1.3
FG %: 52.2 up from 46.5
3PT%: 26.3 down from 34.4
FT%: 79.2 up from 65.8
PER: 20.7 up from 13.5
TS%: 60.6 up from 54.7
WS/48: 0.198 up from 0.076
USG%: 23.5 up from 22.1
TO%: 7.2 down from 10.1
Every single stat is improved except 3PT%. And his defense has been stellar. Case in point.
His current difference between offensive rating(110.9) and defensive rating(95.2) is an amazing +15.7.
BTW just want to say that in the predict Jaylen's numbers thread I had said this:
I think Jaylen is going to surprise a bunch of his detractors here on CelticsStrong. I could easily see him grabbing control as a #2 scorer while putting up All-Defense quality defense. 19-20 PPG, 5.5-6 rebounds 2.5-3 assists with a TS% around 59-60% is what I think he shows in this, his breakout year.
I still stand by this and hope my numbers are a tiny bit conservative. Really will be good to see Jaylen have a bunch of game's like last night's until Gordon returns. I still think that #2 scoring option is in Jaylen's grasp, especially if he can get to the line a lot and hit his FTs at an 80+% rate for the season(like last night)and if his 3PT% increases to a more normal, for him, 35+% rate.
