If we’re thinking the Heat would fold in a game 7., then maybe the Celts will think that too and we all what happens when they get over confident…

Keep that intensity and urgency.

Not a huge scoring night from JT with only 21 points, but 11 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals to go along with excellent overall defense and playmaking. Excellent overall game for him.

MVP Candidate Tatum

Game six decides the series. Heat have no chance in a game 7 in Boston

Disagree. This team is Jekyll & Hyde and can lose just about any game where they are expected to win. It would be just like them to be on the verge of making history and revert back to a Game 1-3 performance.

While I'm happily drinking the kool-aid right now, this is definitely a fear in the back of my mind.

Everyone's talking about how Game 6 is essentially Game 7 for the Heat, because if the C's win Game 6 there's no way they'll lose Game 7.

So I'm definitely a little worried if there is a Game 7, that the C's players will think they've won before the game has even started, expect an easy win, Miami to give up, etc, and then the C's will take their foot off the gas, play lackadaisical, and end up blowing it.

I'm here because I believe, but that fear is definitely in the back of my mind.

just win game 6 by any means necesaary

we will be ok in game 7

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think we're safe from them feeling it's a gimme for gm 6 and 7 if they make it.

I honestly believe they'll bring the energy, my only fear is they'll run out of gas after working so hard tonight.  Joe is going to have to be good with rotations and they' can't afford to be mediocre to cold from 3.
Still don't believe in Joe.

One game at a time. Game 6 will be the toughest of their lives.

If both teams enter Game 7, then everything is at stake. Celtics' season. Heat's season. Celtics may become the first team in NBA history to mount the greatest comeback in NBA playoffs history. The Heat may fall to the con-side of the records, where holding a 3-0 lead before losing four straight.

If we’re thinking the Heat would fold in a game 7., then maybe the Celts will think that too and we all what happens when they get over confident…

Keep that intensity and urgency.

My fear is that the last two games have gone our way because we've shot 40%+ from 3 both of those games. It's an easier game when you make your threes, especially for this team. Because if you make your threes, the Heat have to inbound the ball and walk it up against a half court defense and we can press them. When you miss threes, they get out in transition and then you get the pull up 3s, corner 3s and layups against a scrambling defense. That helped us a lot tonight - we forced a lot of turnovers and we got out in transition a lot. Advanced box scores aren't out yet but I think they will show we feasted against Miami's transition defense. It's one thing to get scored on in transition from turnovers, but we shouldn't be getting scored on from missed 3s.

I tried to look at the box score stats for the series and obviously the threes % is a big one, but because we were in half court defense more often we had more steals, deflections, blocks, which at least is a sign of a more committed defense. The Heat had 15 and 16 turnovers the last couple of games vs us 10 and 9, after the turnover stats were reversed in games 1 - 3. In fact, the blocks, steals were also reversed in the last 2 games from the first 3.

Code: [Select]
R FG% 3FG% STL BLK TO oFG% o3FG% oSTL oBLK oTO
G1 L .519 .345 6 3 15 .541 .516 12 3 12
G2 L .468 .286 2 9 15 .457 .346 9 5 10
G3 L .398 .262 3 3 15 .568 .543 7 4 9
G4 W .512 .400 8 8 10 .436 .250 5 2 15
G5 W .506 .410 13 4 9 .513 .391 6 2 16

I hope this isn't just a case of "we made our threes, we win" - definitely we deserved to make our 3s because of the ball movement and the spacing being a lot better. But our defense needs to continue to force turnovers, even if we miss shots and have to defend in transition. We need to limit as many of those opportunities for the Heat as possible. I have a feeling G6 will be a grind it out game, it's not going to be pretty and it's going to be stressful for both fanbases to watch, so we have to figure out a way to win either way. I just don't want them to hang their heads if they start missing and let their defense lapse, give them as little transition opportunities as possible.

I do think if we win G6 it will be our series to lose, so this is really the pivotal game.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I’m not sure if this was touched upon, but Jimmy Butler guaranteed victory in game six.

The Heat are in total desperation right now after they essentially had a victory parade after game 3. There’s no more care free shots from the outside for them, they will be feeling the pressure. That’s going to matter.

I’ve been saying it since the middle of game 3, we are now heading into game 6, Celtics in 7.
The only color that matters is GREEN
