From ESPN:

Quote
Kevin Love's shoulder injury has officially been diagnosed as "an acute anterior inferior glenohumeral dislocation with the corresponding ligament/labrum tearing and humeral head bone bruising." He is out for the entire second round, and his status will be updated in a few days.

Does it mean the Cavs have now an excuse when they will lose against Chicago?

Oh, wow. So he is done then. Terrible news for Cleveland.

Don't worry Kevin, Noah will be doing the dusting and brooming on your team!

On a serious note, should the Celtics even go after this guy despite his assumed-resentment towards the Celtics and Kelly Olynyk since he torn his labrum? Will this have any impact on his scoring and rebounding abilities, regardless?

If they make it past Chicago in the 2nd, Cleveland actually matchup with Atlanta with K-Love out injured. LeBron is a much match for Paul Millsap. Kevin Love's weak team defense and slow feet were too readily exposed by Atlanta's quickness and ball movement.

I think the Cavs will be as vague as possible in describing Love's ability to play, so that opponents have to plan for multiple scenarios.

Crap. As much as I want Lebron to lose, what really makes the feeling all the more satisfactory when he does is when his team is fully healthy. Love's absence really hurts the Cavs and their depth.

Funny enough though I think Chicago has the edge on Cleveland with or without Love. They've got plenty of depth and versatility in their bigs and they have a defensive identity that can limit Lebron.

I had a torn labrum 2 years ago. It needs surgery to reattach and recovery takes about 9 months to get to 100 percent. I actually feel real bad about this for him.

Or Nene and Gortat may be having field days with Love missing, or even Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young!

I'm not a doctor, but to me "torn labrum" (completely torn) and "labrum tearing" (partial) sound like two different things.

Well, as much as I can't stand CLE, I expect Lebron and Kyrie to step up.

If Lebron has any "Superman" in him (and he does), I still expect CLE to be a tough out.

CHI had better NOT sleep on this.

I think that will blow over if the report about Love and the Celtics having mutual interest is legit. If Love is going to hold any grudges after this is all said and done, he'll hold one against KO and KO alone. And if that's the case, the Celtics can just get rid of KO. They probably would anyway even if this whole incident didn't happen because Love brings what Olynyk brings only better.

Love may not look as ideal as he did last year, but if the Celtics have the chance to get an upgrade at the 4, I say go for it. It makes the rebuild go quicker.
