If Irving walks (and we don't win the championship), a Harris/SGA/picks package might look pretty good. The story I read (not sure if this is the same one) painted a picture of how this was a great look for LAC in their pursuit of Kyrie - as it showed they were willing to trade assets for him even with no guarantees. I actually see it as a positive for the Cs. The fact that they shut it down immediately shows that they are committed to Kyrie and that might help when he is making his decision as a FA.

If you wanted to place your bet on our young core instead of shooting for a Kyrie/Davis centered squad,
Gilgeous-Alexander would the kind of point guard that would be an ideal fit. It would be a lot of fun watching him with Brown and Tatum.

I'd rather root for that team.

Then run it on 2k and knock yourself out.

Does saying stuff like that make you feel better?

I feel great. I get to watch a team I like. But it does give me a chuckle.

That’s what I’m hearing.  Perhaps that explains some things?

Quite likely. The guy is human. We all get sick.

Fortunately, it's over with.

Hopefully he feels better, gets some rest and some fluids in him and comes back rejuvenated on Friday night.

Maybe a bowl of that famous chowdah!

seems very strange nothing came out before the game if true.  You always hear about these things ahead of time because the team can almost never hide it since the players are usually quarantined, given IV's, etc.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

A reporter implied that he knew about it before the game in the post-game interview with Brad

The reporter asked Brad if Kyrie's being unwell affected his shooting. Brad evaded it, I guess they don't want to use it as an excuse.

Considering this was arguably his worst game as a Celtic and perhaps his worst playoff game ever, it’s certainly believable.

Couple days off should be good for everyone to refocus and get back to what was so successful in game 1.

Can’t be bitter about one terrible (yet again) quarter that did us in. We were even the other 3 quarters (I know most of the 4th was garbage tome, but still). We split, took back HCA. Even though we could have had more, can’t be unhappy with our situation.

I am hearing he was sick also. Didn’t want to give the bucks an edge. Not as crazy as when Lebron claimed to hide a broken hand for 3 games in the finals

There's not much the guy can do.

Kyrie knows he would've been criticized if he didn't play because he was sick.

This is one of those times I do feel for professional athletes. You're under the weather but feel pressured to perform for a national audience (unlike another job where you can call in sick.) Not a good position to be in, regardless of how much money someone is making.

Doesn't change the fact that the rest of the Celtics team allowed a 28-2 run in the 3rd quarter

On the same note,
I always think about the singers.
They have performances arranged for months in advance.
Your throat gets sore, and there are million ways to get it sore (at least i do), and you're done.
Or your performance will be derailed, and folks will remember that.
