Stein is reporting that the Suns want Bullock. Seems logical that Rivers goes to CLippers, Bullock to suns then Douglas-Roberts or Udoh will go to the Cs along with a 2nd.

Once this deal goes through my next thought comes into play.

If Nate and Price are both bought out and Cs only receive 1 expiring deal that leaves two roster spots open. The D league show case is starts today and this is where the Cs will likely fill the roster from. The below link is a top ten of the guys available.

I agree Babb and a big like Mcadoo might be a nice fit to round out the roster for the season. If Bass and or thorton are moved they both could earn a little PT.

Per Marc Stein:

"Phoenix increasingly mention as a likely third-team participant so Celtics don't have to take back any salary in sending Austin Rivers to LA

Suns are believed to covet Reggie Bullock from Clippers. Clips would naturally prefer to make deal without surrendering Bullock.

But Austin Rivers, I'm told, never reported to Celtics after deal because Boston pledged to get him to Clippers. And that remains the plan"

For sake of Twitter clarity: Boston allowed Austin Rivers to wait at home because Celts made it clear they'd move him on in subsequent trade"

What's likely going to happen:

BOS sends: Austin Rivers
BOS receive: Shavik Randolph, one other playing on an expiring contract (Turkoglu, Douglas-Roberts, or Udoh), & a 2nd rd pick

PHO sends: Shavlik Randolph
PHO receive: Reggie Bullock

LAC sends: Reggie Bullock & either (Turkoglu, Douglas-Roberts, or Udoh)
LAC receive: Austin Rivers

Boston gets 2 players on an expiring contract and a 2nd round pick. I'd prefer Udoh. We could trade Bass, waive Randolph and use Udoh as a back up Center.

Maybe add in a 2nd rd pick from the Suns going to the Clippers?

I'm also guilty of wanting Udoh in the past. I thought he would have made for a nice 4th big a few seasons ago backing up KG. I liked the idea of his length and mobility along side Bass or Sully (his rookie year). Im surprised how little he developed after college (his being old for his class may have really been a factor in lack or development)

Re Udoh....you never know....look what Whiteside is doing in Miami

Nah. I've seen a ton of Ekpe Udoh in GS, he's nothing more than a bench guy.

Whiteside is working because he has legitimate size. Ekpe is a 6'10" who can block shots at a decent rate, but cant do anything else decent. Which is sad, when he was in GSW, he had a decent mid range game, that seems to be gone now.

Also, unlike Whiteside, he had many chances in the NBA level. He isnt good.

Udoh would be a nice 3rd stringer for Celtics. Can play both PF and C. Situational defender.

More of a PF but limited offensive game makes it tough for him to play there. Fixing that midrange shot of his would completely change his career. It's the only thing holding him back from being a valuable role player. Udoh would really benefit from playing alongside a high post center like Al Horford or Marc Gasol or a Tim Duncan (in order to defend PF + hide offensive weaknesses).

I think Bullock would be a better piece to have. No point in trading a younger more talented player for an older lesser talented one in Udoh. Take Bullock if he's an option.
