Best of luck to Big Al, who lasted 14 seasons in the NBA, averaging 15.7 PPG and 8.4 RPG in 915 games

AL JEFF! I loved watching him while he was here and he was the corner stone of that Garnett trade!

KG retires having won us an NBA title and will unquestionably be inducted into the hall of fame and have his number retired by the Celtics.

Jefferson went on to become a journeyman after being dealt to Minnesota.

I'd say that trade worked out really well!

Thank you Kevin McHale!!

3 pt era has destroyed the value of players like al. If this was 10 years ago he'd be 3rd stringing for a playoff squad

Yup. Even in his later years, he had that awesome year as a Charlotte Bobcat in 2013-14. After that he kinda went downhill for good.

Good luck to Big Al with whatever comes next.

Injuries and the changing NBA kept him from his true potential but he had some good years for sure.

I think you are denigrating his career. Post-trade, he went on to average basically 17/9/2/1/1. That’s a good player. He also had a positive net rating all but one season.

He may not be a Hall of Famer, but he was no slouch and a nice piece for Minny post-KG.
