Nope

Tatum is a good 1 on 1 talent. But there is no other way to put it.  He is a ball stopper.  Ball stop + slows the pace to a grinding halt.

Team almost blew a 27 pt lead vs Hawks.   Blew 24 pt lead yesterday due to that horrific 3rd quarter.  In both cases Tatum was the main ball handler and/or ended up shooting the ball

No lead is safe with this team anymore.   Opposing teams are instructed to pressure Tatum/and or double team him.  And have a fighting chance to erase any kind of double digit leads

Since the Heat series (where they also did this to him),  teams have taken notice

The question is, will Tatum be able to identify and break through this.   Or won't because he has to meet his stat quota

Wildest trade ever. Are you saying we get 4 1sts plus 2 pick swaps? If so, I'd want to watch a lot of Collins, but maybe??? if he has his head on straight. SGA is a huge star, and while not quite as valuable as Tatum, its not quite as crazy as it seems.

I truly hate the chemistry on the C's and blame Tatum, Walker and Smart for most of it. I'd prefer it to just work out, but don't see how that happens without some trades. I don't see Stevens pushing Tatum to change.

Tatum has watched too much Kobe Bryant videos. He is a major ball stopper. It is up to Brad to snap him out of it.

I suspect it is very hard for any coach on any team to really "snap a guy out of it" when that guy makes like ten times as much money and is clearly a bigger priority for the franchise.

No matter whether you like exactly where Tatum in his progression or not, stars win in the NBA.... period. Tatum is the closest thing the Cs have had to a Superstar since Garnett. And please don't say Jaylen -- love him, but he's one peg down.

Trading a star for two guys who are half stars is a formula for NBA failure. It's why it only happens when guys ASK for trades. No GM trades an NBA star when they're 22 and still improving if they don't have to, because it's idiotic.

You need 2 Superstars or 3 Stars in full working order to win a championship. Cs need to add a star -- not subtract one.

Lol. I'd sincerely look forward to all of the "Did Danny blow it by trading Tatum?" threads that would inevitably follow such a move.

I think you mistaken functioning team plus talent

Vs

2 or 3 stars with team dysfunction

Proof is Carmelo Anthony Knicks.  Celtics of 2 years ago with Irving, Horford, Hayward, Tatum, Brown

That was a loaded team

So what happened?

Advice to Tatum

Brad: quicken the pace and ball movement

Kobe: Dont pass if you dont have to

Tatum overrides Stevens and listen to Kobe soul on his shoulder

Paranoid side of me thinks Kobe has pulled an inception in Tatum mindset to sabotage Celts chances at success

The reality of Kobe mindset works for Kobe

Tatum should really try to mirror Leonard or AD game/mindset

Not Kobe or Durant

Phil Jackson was able to do it on LA. Dealing with far bigger egos.

You spend years or even decades trying to find a Tatum level talent for your franchise.

You don't trade him at age 22.  Plus you have him under team control until at least 2024-2025.

Moving him right now would be a terrible organizational decision.

Phil Jackson had coached Michael Jordan and won ... what ... 6 titles already?
