  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Jason Terry is 100% not a hall of fame candidate. Not that I'm trying to bag on the guy, but HOFers should be players that define a generation.

Unfortunately, they aren't. (Not that it relates to JET)

definitely not.  He's been a role player for most of his career

what does it mean to be a role player? Is this used to describe non-eilte players. It cannot just mean players that perform a role because all players perform a role some to lead some to support. If you fulfill your 'role' as a supporting player magnificently why should you not be considered for the hall of fame. After all we know that BB is a team game and championships are won by teams not individuals. Therefore, I do not see why been just a 'role' player should take one out of the running for the Hall.

Was Horry a role player.. he has more rings than MJ with multiple teams - Is he a HOF?
if terry had 6 rings it would be a different story
Fisher has 5 rings and he's not close to Hall of Fame material in my opinion.

I don't think he qualifies statistically, or in the Fame category--my personal category for overarching popularity, memorability and iconography. Essentially my argument for why, say, Vince Carter should be in the HoF.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Why should we put one of the biggest underachievers in the history of the NBA in the HOF?

By his career numbers, Vince Carter would be a fairly egregious ommisson. You can certainly argue that he should've/could've accomplished more with his NBA career, but that's about as idle a flight of fancy as the "what if Pop was our coach" thread.

The fact that he was probably the most electric dunker the league has ever seen doesn't hurt either.

If it's a hall of 'fame,' Vince Carter should make it. Vince Carter was 'famous.'

Vince had fame but a me-first attitude.   The biggest knock on him was too few years as a premier player.  coasted too many years to be considered great
