  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I find myself getting choked up all the time -- especially since I've had my kids.  Anything kid related -- bingo.

My girlfriend's stepdad, a 60 year old career highway plowman/snowguy on one of the worst stretches on NY's snowbelt, a man with serious debilitating chronic back pain and irrational discomfort with any kind of medicine, the middle of 7 kids, with 3 older brothers, all around tough SOB...he cries like a BABY every time she (my GF) shows unabashed love and admiration for him (like on birthday cards, christmas stuff, making him dinner when they visit, whatever). This is a guy who doesn't speak 20 words in a given day and wouldn't ask for a glass of water if his arm was on fire.

BTW, if you don't know how bad the life of a plowguy is in NY's snowbelt, its 24 hr on call duty, 15-20 hour shifts, and arthritis by the time you're 40. Its man's work, moving snow.

I haven't cried in a few months I don't think, but I'm definitely one of those emotional guys that will cry a lot.  Not so much with songs or movies, but if it has to do with something I care about the tears just don't stop (even if it's something stupid like I break/lose something).  This is why I never gave Davis a hard time for crying during a game, it's completely understandable.  It actually happens more with TV shows because I feel like I know the characters personally.
When I was younger I would have a hard time not crying if someone started a fight with me.  I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I would just get so emotional.
As far as Marley, I'm sure I would've cried if I watched it.  There's just something about sad animals that gets me upset (kids too).  They're just so innocent.
And for the record, I cried every night for at least a week when things in a long relationship fell apart.  I think love is something that will always make a guy cry.

The time I cried was during for both of my grand mother's funerals and now every time I hear any version of Amazing Grace.  This is tough since I am a huge Dropkick fan and have it on my I-pod.  I usually have my Ipod in my cubicle at work and every time it comes on I feel myself tearing up.  I know a simple solution could be just skip the song, but I just can't do it.

cried today actually...my younger brother boarded a plane to Texas this morning. He'll be studying at a school out there. It's just crazy, cuz you grow up watching out for and protecting your younger siblings, so when you're suddenly 1,600 miles away from each other, it's just really wierd to adjust to.

anyways, i'm gonna go read about danny ainge becoming an old geezer, this topic's awful grim for a summer topic lol!

A movie has never made me cry.  Im not saying that to sound macho or anything like that.  It's just that, as much as I get into movies, I guess I always have a thought in the back of my head that it's not reality.  Though I came very close to crying the first time I saw Braveheart.

You didn't see Brian's Song when you were a kid?

I cried when I found out my girlfriend of three+ years cheated on me, about a month ago.  Somehow, we're still going to give it another shot.  It's a tough decision to make - one side of me will go to almost any length to make it work, and the other side of me thinks the first side is a dumbass.

Before that, I cried about three years ago when my cat died.  I guess I don't cry very often.  There may have been a time or two in the middle, but I can't remember.

when i saw the pursuit of happiness on dvd....i cried like a baby like 5 different times during that film.

i swear, ever since i have become a father, movies get to me a lot now.  i cant help but put myself in others shoes, especially when it deals with being a parent.
