I've seen several youtube clips of Embiid's exceptional passing skills for a Big man - but don't want to post them here because it will give away players not drafted.

But feel free to check them out yourself.

Double Joel? He's kicking it out to Dirk or Hayward or Tony.

And that's not even counting my SG I'm looking at and my bench.
That's surprising, my evaluation of Embiid's passing is that his vision and decision making were problematic at times and is subpar overall.

Would you like me to post about a 4 min youtube clip that perfectly displays Embiid's passing ability?

It will give away a few players not drafted yet.

The bolded is simply not true.

This is why I tried to stay away from certain players with this draft - because of some biases Bloggers here have with some of our real life competition.

Joel Embiid - real life rivalries aside - is simply one of the best Bigs in this draft and will fit well with this team.
Or would you like me to post you videos and articles from people who've pored over hours of tape (instead of 4 minute YouTube videos, lol) criticising his passing?

Knock it off Somebody. It's stuff like what I deleted that causes drama.
I didn't instigate this stuff but sure, can't defend myself when someone insinuates that I have a bias against some of his players. It was my honest opinion and I stand by it.
I wouldn't call Embiid's passing exceptional but it is generally quite good.  When he gets into problems, it is more about him trying to force the issue and over dribbling.
With the team Green Faith is assembling, that should be much less of an issue.

Interesting to see Gobert get picked ahead over [another great defensive] centerr. Two similar style players. I had thought the [other] center would go first.

Gobert's offensive game the separating factor?

Despite have the chance for a really big trade which is really hard to pass on, I am going to make a pick instead.

The 76ers will select Rudy Gobert
Nice. Strong strong defence you've got there.

Really good at neutralizing the opponent.   ;)
And just like that, the Historical Draft was postponed indefinitely
Just pick that player lol , he's perfect for your squad.

I think he's got a good understanding of certain game dynamics (kind of like Wilt in situations where he could survey the court) and has a good pass in him every now and then because of that, but I don't think he's a good passer overall. He doesn't convert good passing opportunities enough (even for bigs) and as you said overdribbles or tries to force the issue quite a bit. But yes it shouldn't be an issue for GF unless he tries to play Embiid as a point centre.

Live stream of thoughts as I catch up...

Arrrggghhhh!  Brandon Roy was my main target this round.  My hopes and my dreams.  Interestingly, I had him as my 4(2) ranked player which is EXACTLY where he got drafted.

Gordon Hayward was oddly not even on my radar.  Early for him, but not a bad player in this league that I certainly should have had on my radar.  A kind of guy who can fit into star-studded teams and still produce.

Wow, Jokic was also my 4(6) ranked player and got taken exactly there.  This is too odd...  Great fit for LAL too there btw.

I think Bosh is a good pickup.  He doesn't need to be an offensive focus piece.  He showed how he can be useful in a supportive role... which I'm sure is really close in reality to the roles many of these superstars would actually have to be relegated to in this game.  He's also awesome at blowing up high pick and rolls.  Will certainly be weak against a big strong center, but will be one of the best defenders drafted so far at blowing up high pick and rolls (an offense lots of teams here will execute).  So he serves a very useful purpose there that not many others can.

Michael Redd is a sneaky good pick. He was an excellent scorer in the early aughts that didn't get the national exposure he deserved.

I need a shot creator from the wing spot, and who would have thought one of the best scorers in this draft would fall to me? With the eleventh pick of the 4th round, I pick one of the greatest Olympic basketball players of all time...
