Even if we do not contend for the championship with the Js, here are some top free agents to salivate over (only considered UFAs who could likely give us 3-4 years of elite play, so the only “old guys” who might fit that description are Curry and Leonard given their standing and style of play that is compatible with longevity):

2020 - Grade D: Draymond and potentially AD if this becomes Kobe/Dwight II (AD can always fire Rich Paul).

2021 - Grade A: Giannis, Oladipo, Gobert, Beal, DeRozan, McCollum

2022 - Grade TBD: Curry (will he be too old? Guessing he would leave if GS is in tatters)

2023 - Grade A: Leonard, Jokic, Embiid

2024 - Grade A: KAT, Porzingis, Booker

I could see Ainge trying to get Beal here. Tatum gets his childhood mentor/idol. Helps keep Tatum here longer.

Plus I like beal the most out of most of these names. High character lights out shooter in a bad situation. Reminds me of ray Allen. Maybe Hayward signs a cheap team friendly deal to make room for beal?

-Curry will be  old but again could be the 3rd piece like ray. Will curry be hungry to win? Beal will be
-Kawhi screams LA for life
2023 and 2024 are so far its impossible to talk about unless it contains a generational talent.. It doesnt

I would imagine LA is primary free agent destination  in the foreseeable future.

Boring!

NBA would have been more entertaining with Leonard in Toronto.

I’m fine with LA being the primary destination so long as it is the Clippers, not the Lakers.

I sure hope Giannis is on Danny's radar.

To me, his name jumps out before anyone else's.

The NBA is going to be his league for the next 5 years (maybe longer.)

If the Celts don't look any closer to contention in the summer of 2021 then they do now (which I'm hoping they will), this guy is taking a permanent siesta from watching basketball.

Why don't we add Boston to that list?

Of course. We're simply hoarding assets to trade for Anthony Davis Giannis in a couple of years. Everyone knows that that's been Danny's plan.

If Milwaukee falters, Giannis will dominate this discussion by a mile.

Would be an interesting discussion if Tatum reaches All-Star level and becomes a S&T asset for Giannis two summers from now.

The 2021 FA class will be INSANE! I hope we can find a way to have cap space for that class.

Next year is honestly looking pretty meh though.

Let's grow our talent, and stop acting like we're a bunch of Kyrie Irvings wondering what it's like to play with someone else.

Be thankful for what you got.

Yeah the summer of 2021 is going to be fun.

I agree next summer is going to be lame. It'll basically be Anthony Davis, Draymond Green and Serge Ibaka and that's about it. And Anthony Davis can go *bleep* because he clearly doesn't want to be in Boston.

Not that I wouldn't mind Draymond or Serge on our team (depending on where our team is at with Hayward's player option and Brown's potential restricted free agency.)

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I don’t think we’ll have max cap space for a long time with Kemba on the books for 4 years, and paying Brown and Tatum in the near future.  That’s even if Hayward isn’t re-signed.
