Total rebuild is moving everyone we have except Tatum/Smart, and moving all of them for picks and just picks. And doing this after firing Ainge and Stevens, but before hiring a new GM (interim GM role being someone who takes orders from Wyc in terms of trading the roster for picks).

Frankly, if we fall short in 2021 after not making position and coaching adjustments, this is not a bad idea. At least we’ll be positioned for a major free agent in 2021-2023, maybe land on a superstar (Giannis or Kawhi in 2021, or Kawhi in 2022) to get us to championships with Tatum/Smart, and maybe we convince Pop and Buford to finish out their careers with the rebuild here given the foundation of Tatum/Smart/picks/marquee free agent.

Or maybe we pay whatever it takes to get Ujiri and Tony Bennett. Or maybe we give Bennett all of the power as coach and GM like Belichick in the NFL and Red back in the day. There is power in the coach also being the GM, particularly since there are only 13-15 players per team and the coach can hire great front office right-hand personnel.

Fans definitely need to send a message to Ainge: Championship in 2021 or pack your bags.

I don't like Smart for Bog unless C's get a pick.

Don't like Kanter with pick 30 for Smith. That's a bad trade.

Do like the trading for Turner and Rose. But not sure if I draft Terry and go after Rose both.

Overall you put a ton of investment in the position where you just last season signed an all star.

Don't like release of Edwards. Edwards has more upside than Smith right now and Terry for all we know could turn out to just be another Edwards, as is a good shooter in college but struggles year one in the pros against better athletes. Give Edwards another year at least.

Not sure team has the ability to sign Baynes a team could offer him above the MLE.

So my alternative/tweak is draft S. Bey instead of Terry. Do the Turner deal. Trade Kanter, VP and 30 for Rose and a future 2nd. Don't release Edwards.
