I know it’s early, and we ain’t getting him, but wow he looks impressive.  Looks like a Luka clone.

Why couldn’t Memphis continue to suck so we could root to grab this guy next year?

I think there is some over rating going on with this prospect

I heard heard Luka, Simmons comparisons

but could also end up as a better version of Evan Turner

I just don't see that PG skills/awareness that Luka posses in CC

I think the Cs should make a trade every year just so we can root for another team to lose. Even if it’s a swap with an even team ... say Toronto, this years. 😉

Big TP for you. The draft pick watch threads have always been my favorite.

Got it!

Out: Damien Harris, Patriots 1st and 3rd round draft picks (to NY Giants)
In: Kevin Knox, Knicks first-rounder in 2021

I'm in the Jalen Green team, but the 2021 draft has a tonne of really strong prospects at this stage. Really interesting to see how the G-League goes with Jalen Green, Jonathon Kuminga and Daishen Nix
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I'm a sucker for oversized PGs (and undersized Centers :P). I'd trade anyone but Tatum for this kid. I absolutely love his game.

21 points, 10 rebs, 3 assists in his debut. He shot 7-of-16 from the field, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range.

Any chance that we can nab a good prospect with our presumably late 1st in the 2021 draft?
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

For sure, there are quite a few intriguing prospects out there. Lots of athletic big men. To name a few:

Oscar Tshiebwe: 6'9, 260lbs, 7'4 wingspan. Powerhouse undersized 5 with good length? Sounds like someone we just signed... except Tshiebwe is a bit longer.

Armando Bacot: 6'10, 244lbs, 7'1 wingspan. Typical efficient defence-first rim runner.

Kai Sotto: 7'2, 240 lbs, 7'1 wingspan. Not an ideal wingspan, but he's worked a heap on his frame (put on 20lbs over the last 1.5-2 years) and has some good skills.

Ariel Hukporti: 6'11, 220lbs, 7'1 wingspan. Athletic long NBA-level body who is new to the game, but moves super well.

Isaiah Jackson: 6'10, 205lbs, 7'1 wingspan. Reminds me a lot of Obi Toppin in that he tries to posterize everyone all the time - and it works. Skinny, but that can be helped.

There are plenty of athletes in this upcoming draft, and lots of fun international prospects too!
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)

PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

40 points and 11 rebounds on 12-21 from the floor, 3-8 from 3 and 13-14 from the FT line

The kid is amazing!

- He's 6'8'' with a 7' wingspan.
- He's an unselfish ball handler with elite BBIQ!
- He can create his own shot.
- He can create shots for his teammates.
- He's a great shooter (43.2% from 3 on 4.8 attempts per game, 85% from the FT line on 6.3 attempts per game).
- He can shoot 3s off the dribble!
- He can play on or off the ball (which means he'd be a great fit next to Tatum).
- He can guard multiple positions.

He can do it all!

If I were Danny, I'd seriously consider trading Brown on draft night for Cunningham + whatever else we can get.

For instance, let's say the Wizards win the lottery.

Brown to the Wizards for Cunningham + Bertans + Wagner

Danny will select a PG or a Stash/Dash player from overseas..Isiah Jackson be a very good prospect in late round
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Would be very hard to get Cunningham (probable top 2 pick), but a guy like Kispert or Wagner could be available if we continue on this trajectory.

However, our team might have finally started to get its stuff together.
If we do fall back down into the latter third of the draft I'd really like us to nab Josh Giddey. He's basically the Australian dollar shop version of Cade Cunningham. 6'8" point guard, high IQ on both ends, elite finisher at the basket, good handle. He's not elite, but he's better at the same pro level compared to RJ Hampton. Would like to take a flyer on him. He's also young

How does CC compare to Tatum?

Is he considered a higher level prospect at the same age?

Yes, for sure. He can do everything Tatum does, plus he's a better passer and ball handler. I mean, he's 6'8'' and he runs the point! They are both the same size, but Cunningham is a bit longer. He probably has better shooting potential as well (Tatum was shooting 34.2% from 3 in college). If Cunningham were in Tatum's class, I fully believe he would have gone #1.

- Trade Kemba for Barnes + expiring(s). Chances are it would have to be a 3-way.
- Trade Brown on draft night for Cunningham + whatever else we can get.

PG: Cunningham (6'8'')
SG: Nesmith (6'5'')
SF: Barnes (6'8'')
PF: Tatum (6'8'')
C: Theis (6'8'')

This lineup would be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams! The only PG in the NBA who's tall/strong enough to slow down Cunningham is Ben Simmons. We'd also be one of the best defensive teams in the league (if not the best). Cunningham is a terrific team defender. We'd seamlessly switch pretty much every ball screen on defense.

If only we could find a 6'8'' SG as well. :P Fwiw, Cam Reddish is 6'8''. I would argue he's a (very) poor man's Jaylen Brown. Don't think he'll ever become a good enough shot creator. That said, he might adapt his game and transform into a useful 3+D wing. His FG% is abysmal, but he's shooting 80.8% from the FT line for his career. I mean, FT% is usually indicative of shooting potential. I reckon he'd be a nice buy-low target in case we swapped Brown for Cunningham.
