He averaged 35% on 4 attempts his 1st year with the Knicks and 36% on 4 his second season. When he went to Chicago his numbers just fell.
I had noticed this also when I looked up his career stats. There is some potential in him for sure. For a 7'-2" guy to be about 35% 3P% over two seasons, even on the Knicks, is something to build on. Seeing him play against OKC, he moved well, saw the court well, reacted to the game well.
If he turns out to be a taller version of Grant Williams, I'd be fine with that. We essentially traded Javonte Green for him. The hope with a guy like this is that he will gain strength just through natural maturation, or maybe has already gained strength since his earlier days. Like Grant, his moments of impact will likely be sporadic but he is player you will be able to put out there. He can keep up with an NBA game and even make some things happen sometimes. That is useful.
