Here's a stupid question: Why not just let Lebron be a player/coach? I mean, he's been basically doing that for a while now.

Who would they fire when he loses?

Its against the rules of the current CBA.

Also he wouldn't want it.

So stupid. The Lakers should have hired somebody who has had success with young players.

I would have offered the Nuggets some draft compensation for Mike Malone, I think, or gone with Joerger.

there is currently only one player on the lakers that ownership is concerned with - james.

lue has a record of success as james' coach, they did win a championship together. james wants lue, so the lakers get lue. anything else is secondary to enabling james.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Exactly and most of their young players could be gone in the offseason.  They tied their fortunes to Lebron so they're stuck with it now.

Imagining Dave Joerger dealing with LBJ and that dysfunctional front office situation made me giggle out loud.

Imagining Kurt Rambis who was just awful as part of the process of hiring and interviewing the Lakers head coach.... ;D
